Aging

Who me? Yes, sad but true I am another year older. I cannot believe I am 31 years old. I can remember my mother being my age. Good news is I do not feel "older". I had a lot of people tell me once I hit thirty my body would feel it. Luckily that has not really happened so far. I do look older however. I was watching a video from mine and Michael's wedding the other night (yes, I was having a sappy moment) and I looked sooo much younger (to me anyways). Oh well, they say with age comes wisdom right. Is that what all this grey hair is wisdom????

Snowday

Can you believe it? Snow in South Georgia. It is the first time that I can remember it snowing here and sticking to the ground like it did since 1989. The first two pictures are from the next morning. Michael and the boys made a snowman as you can see, they had a lot of fun running around and throwing snowballs at each other. The other pictures in the snow are from the night before when we first realized it was snowing. For those wondering where Cathy was she had spent the night at one of her girlfriends in Savannah, and was quite upset as it did not snow in town the way it did in the country. She was also bummed that she missed out on the snowball fight.

But I did include a new picture of her, it is from her b-day party with her girlfriends, and the picture of me and Michael is from our date this weekend. We went to the Melting Pot for my birthday and had fondue. It was really a lot of fun and the food and company were great as well.

Smelly

So I am down to the final trimester, or that is what some books say, some say I will not hit the third trimester until 28 weeks where as others say 26 weeks 6 days. Either way I am fast approaching the end and Kendall will be here sooner than I can imagine. I cannot wait to hold her in my arms. I was lying in bed with Michael the other night and asked him if he was excited to see her (which of course he said yes), he then asked me if I was. I told him he was gonna think I was crazy but that I could not wait to smell her. He started laughing at me (he knows I love how a newborn baby smells). He told me I could put baby lotion on and it would smell the same, but as all you mom's out there know that is not the case. Nothing is like it, and I am so excited to snuggle with her on my chest and breath in that sweet sweet new baby smell :)

Amazing

Last night as I was tucking Colin in to bed, he looked up at me and said "Isn't God amazing". I replied with "Yes, he is baby but what do you mean?" He then told me "The baby, it's amazing she is growing in your stomach and she has her own heart and it is beating and she is moving all around." It brought tears to my eyes and I said "Yes, she is and it is awesome." He then told me "Well, there is not much for her to do in there but move around because it is dark."

I say a special prayer of thanks everyday for my children. There has been no greater blessing that I have received than being their mother.

Thrifty

I have really never been a bargain shopper, while I do like to save money I just have never found the reason in driving from one store to the next to try and save a few cents. I always figure you spend more in gas than you save. With our fourth child on the way I am however looking at the price of baby items and how expensive they are. You would think having three other children I would have everything I need. That is not the case however. I got rid of all of my little girl things (such as clothes, blankets) after Colin was born, and the only thing I kept after Cody was my crib and my bassinet. Where am I going with this you ask. Well, today I went by a little consignment shop and was able to get Kendall 6, that's right 6 outfits for $16, and they all look like brand new. This is definitely a store I will have to revisit. If only I could get the older kids uniforms at such prices :)

Random

So I am just sitting here and wanted to update my blog, so excuse me if this is a little random;

Cat-She is doing great. She has another b-ball game tonight. They are still undefeated for the season. She had a couple of friends come over weekend before last for her b-day and we all went to a bowling alley/arcade in Pooler were we bowled, played laser tag, and lots of arcade games. We took them out to eat for Mexican as Cathy requested and she got to wear the sombrero as she was serenaded. School is going great as well. She is still really excited to meet her little sister, although she is not crazy about the name we have chosen for her. She wanted us to name her Camille.

Colin- Is also doing great. He has lost another tooth since I posted last, so he looks so cute with his two bottom teeth missing. He has been playing rec b-ball on the weekends, but is looking forward to the spring as he tells us he wants to try baseball. This would be Colin's first season playing baseball, which I believe is coach pitch at his age (if I remember correctly from Cathy playing). He as well is really excited to be a big brother again. He will come up and talk to her in my tummy.

Cody-Is my stinker as always. I say that but he has been really good lately (no fits, knock on wood). Cody is the one who ultimately decided on Kendall name for me. Michael and I had been going back and forth with a few choices. The other night the boys were at the table discussing whether or not the baby had a name when I heard Cody say "Yes her does have a name, her name is Tendall" . After that I knew what we would name her.

Michael-It seems like his update always sounds the same. He is good, busy at work and at home. I know he really misses his brother and is looking forward to their visit in April. He is my heart, I think I love him more everyday. He is a wonderful partner and I appreciate all that he does for me.

Me, Myself & I-I am huge... no not really but I feel like it sometimes. I am doing really good health wise. The baby is growing great, moving like crazy. My blood pressure is good, weight is good (according to the doctor). I stay very busy between work and the kids. Which lately makes me pretty tired, I end up falling asleep on the couch every night. But I am taking advantage of these nighttime naps, as I know in a couple of months they will disappear :)

Tween

So another year has passed and I am now the mother of a tween, or so I have been told. Cat's b-day was earlier this month and she turned 11. What is a tween you ask (as did I). Apparently it means she is no longer a little kid and not yet a teenager but is "in-between" or a tween. Now when I was little I think we were called pre-teens, but hey times and terms change :) I cannot believe how fast the time has flown, it seems like yesterday I was bringing her home from the hospital, a first time mom, overdoing and overreacting about everything. But they say you learn through your first, and I have. I am looking forward to the next couple of tween years, as I have had so many people warn me of the teen years. But I know Cat and I will make it through them together, I am sure I will come out on the other side with even more grey hair, but that is part of it.
