About time

I'm done!! Well at least until next year, I have prepared the w-2's for both Michael's company and at my work. This is a big relief. Now I just have to get everything ready for the accountant to prepare the tax returns for both companies. January is always slammed packed for me, and this year it seems to be carrying into February. That is a good thing though right :)

Goopy

If any of you recognize this picture then you will know all to well what my littlest came home with. Yep, that's right "pink eye" just hearing the words make some cringe. I must admit I used to be one of them but after three children and numerous cases I guess I have grown immune and very very thankful for the above medication. It knocks out the symptoms within the first 24 hours (which I know Cody will greatly appreciate, poor baby). I highly recommend it.

Girls Night Out

Last week my mom called and asked if I would want to go to the movies with herself and my sister over the weekend to see Twilight. It would be the second time for both myself, and my mother but the first for my sister (who just finished the book). So of course I said yes, problem was the theater only had one showing at 9:45pm. Which would put me home way past my bedtime (I have an hour drive to the theater) especially having to get up and come to work today. So instead we went and saw Bride Wars. It was really cute it made me both laugh and cry which to me means it was a good movie.

On a different note, I cannot get over how much Kate Hudson looks like her mother, I mean on the way home I even called Michael and told him how I did not like Goldie Hawn's character at the beginning of the movie.

The Dash

My Great Aunt recently past away and at the funeral one of her grandaughter's read "The Dash". I had never heard it before but it is beautiful and a true refelction of how my Aunt Lois lived her life and how I inspire to live mine.

I read of a man who stood to speak
at the funeral of a friend.
He referred to the dates on her tombstone
from the beginning...to the end.

He noted that first came the date of her birth
and spoke of the following date with tears,but he said what mattered most of all
was the dash between those years.

For that dash represents all the time
that she spent alive on earth...and now only those who loved her
know what that little line is worth.

For it matters not, how much we own;the cars....the house...the cash.
What matters is how we live and love
and how we spend our dash.

So think about this long and hard...are there things you'd like to change?
For you never know how much time is left
that can still be rearranged.

If we could just slow down enough
to consider what's true and real,and always try to understand
the way other people feel.

And be less quick to anger,and show appreciation more
and love the people in our lives
like we've never loved before.

If we treat each other with respect,and more often wear a
smile...remembering that this special dash
might only last a little while.

So, when your eulogy is being read
with your life's actions to rehash...would you be proud of the things they

Tempted

Who wouldn't be, I mean just look at it....

About a month ago on my way home I noticed an orange Dodge Challenger (almost identical to the one pictured above) for sale. It was calling my name (which I ignored by the way). Needless to say it did not take more than a week and someone had bought it (I guess I wasn't the only one it spoke to). Then a couple of weeks ago on my way into town I noticed another beautiful orange Challenger out in front of the local Dodge dealer. It too has been calling my name "Kristy, come look at me" "Think of how good we would look together".

I have been avoiding going by there like the plague unitl today. I could not fight the urge any longer and at lucnh I drove by the dealer just to see what they were asking for it. I did not test drive it. I really want to I am just scared it will make me want to buy it. When I pulled up there was a group of car salesmaen as well as a few local miltary guys looking at the cars close by. I know I must have been a site driving up getting out of my minivan to look at this muscle car. Am I being really impractical, I mean technically it could work, me and Cat in the front and the boys in the back. My fear is how long would it take for the novelty to wear off and for me to be frustrated with the little amount of space I had. But make no mistake the temptation is there :)

V . A . C . A . T . I . O . N

Let's go! Well for those of you wondering, that is where I have been. It was wonderful. Normally when I am off of work we have somewhere to go or something to do, but not this past week. The kids were out of school, I was off of work and Michael only had to work part of the time and we were just able to relax and spend time together as a family. We had a great Christmas, the kids got a Wii which the whole family has enjoyed. I think my favorite present was my book. I got the second book in the Twilight series "New Moon". I am normally not that big of a reader to be honest I just cannot find the time. However over our anniversary Michael and I went and saw the movie Twilight which made me in turn want to read the books to know what happened next. I finsihed the 500 some odd page book within a a week which for me is record breaking and I cannot wait to read the next one. Hopefully I will get it soon.

This past weekend marked another big event in our household. It was Cathy's tenth birthday. I cannot beleive it, my baby is a whole decade old. Does this mean I am getting older too? Anyways I cannot belaive how the time flys. My parents always told me that the older I got the faster time would move and it is true. It feels like yesterday that she was taking her first steps and now here she is growing into this beautiful young girl. I am not going to get overly mooshy but I am going to tell you how much I love her, how proud I am of her, she is an amazing person with a heart of gold and her spirit will touch you, she is one of those people that the light just shines from. Happy Birthday Cat!
