Hormones

Maybe, I am a little over emotional from my pregnancy hormones, but I am feeling so very blessed today that I have got to share. I am thankful for my three amazing children. I am thankful for this little miracle growing inside of me. I am thankful to have the love of my life to share it with. I am thankful for my extended family and friends. I feel like I am oozing sunshine :)

A mom's "day off"

Okay, so yesterday I had the day off of work. It was St. Patrick's day (which is a big deal in Savannah). So I was at home with the kids, who are on spring break this week. Instead of truly "having" the day off, I decided I was going to clean the bathrooms. We currently have 3 1/2 baths. I was doing good until I reached the monster pictured above. You cannot appreciate it's true size unless you see it in person. It is 10ft of slate top to bottom wall to wall. When I picked the tile for the shower I was going on aesthetics, I did not think about having to clean it. For those that don't know (I was one of these people prior) dark tile is harder to clean than light tile. My mom and husband would tell you that I go overboard in my cleaning. But my thought on that is I don't like to do anything half butt. Let me say though, I am paying for it today. I need to keep reminding myself "Kristy, you are eight months pregnant" and stop trying to be superwoman. But like I told Cathy yesterday when she said "Mom, you really don't have to do that". "If, I don't do it who will?"

Bridal Shower

As some of you may know, my little sister is getting married. I am honored that I will be standing up for her as her matron of honor and had the privilege a few weeks back of throwing her bridal shower. Below are a few pics from the day. One of the games we played was "toilet paper bride", basically we had two teams that had to create a wedding dress out of toilet paper for their bride, then Candi would pick the winner. Cathy quickly volunteered to be the bride for her team but then got shy when it was time to take pictures :) It was really a lot of fun, and I have to add that Candi's friend Mary did a great job making the bouquet out of ribbons for her rehearsal.

Battle Scars

As many of you women out there know one of the many joys of pregnancy are the dreaded stretch marks. Last night I was in my room with Cathy, and as I was changing into my pajamas the following converstaion ensued:

Cathy - "what are all of those lines on your boobs?"

Me- "which ones, the blue ones, those are blood vessels"

Cathy - "no, the white ones, are those stretchmarks?"

Me-"yes they are"

Cathy - "when did you get those"

Me- "when I was pregnant with you"

Cathy - "you got a lot of strecth marks when you were pregnant with me. Why did you get so many with me and not your other pregnancies?" at this point she was referring to the ones on my hips as well, as she had previously asked me what those were from, and I have to add when I told her they were from my pregnancy with her she replied "wow, I must have kicked you pretty hard"

Me - "because you were my first, and before you I had never gained that much weight, I was like a string bean"

Cathy - "oh"

And on another note, I would like you to meet my new best friend

Fragile

Yesterday I had a HUGE scare and it left me feeling really vulnerable. About lunch time when I went to the restroom I noticed I was spotting. I immediately called both my mom and Michael both of which told me to go in to the doctor. I was not having any contractions or pain, but I was still really panicked as I had not experienced this with any of my other pregnancies.

When I got to the doctor they checked me out and said that everything looked good. She said my cervix was tightly closed, still thick and long, and that I was not actively bleeding. (at this point I could breathe much better) She told me that my cervix looked very vascular and that she felt like the bleeding was from cervical irritation??

They then put me on the monitor for a good thirty minutes to watch the babies heartbeat, fetal movements, and confirm that my uterus was not contracting. Kendall was not to pleased with the straps around my belly. I told Michael I wish he could have been there to see her kicking and rolling and hitting at them. After about thirty minutes the doctor came in and said everything looked great and that I could go home.

I left feeling much better than when I went (obviously), but I also felt fragile almost. I tried explaining it to Michael last night. Which I don't know if he understood. Alot of the time he thinks I am superwoman (which is my fault). It was soo scary for me to think how vulnerable Kendall would still be to the outside world, and how important it is for my body to hold up and keep her safe.

Wanna be a baller

Like the 5th grade Lady Cavaliers. I have been meaning to write this post for a couple of weeks now and am just getting around to it. Cathy's basketball team are the SPAL champions. The girls went undefeated on the season with a record of 11-0 and then continued onto sweep the tournament and win the championship. I am so very proud of all of the girls, especially our little Cat. The pictures below are from after their championship game :)

Aging

Who me? Yes, sad but true I am another year older. I cannot believe I am 31 years old. I can remember my mother being my age. Good news is I do not feel "older". I had a lot of people tell me once I hit thirty my body would feel it. Luckily that has not really happened so far. I do look older however. I was watching a video from mine and Michael's wedding the other night (yes, I was having a sappy moment) and I looked sooo much younger (to me anyways). Oh well, they say with age comes wisdom right. Is that what all this grey hair is wisdom????
